April D. Flansburg

April Diane (Miller/Hicks) Flansburg, 73, of Sunnyside, WA passed away peacefully on June 16, 2016 at Prestige Care & Rehabilitation in Sunnyside, WA.

April was born on April 19, 1943 in San Jose, Santa Clara, California, the daughter of William Stanley Miller and Ruby E. (Luth/Miller) Hicks and raised by Lawrence E. Hicks. On Jan. 14, 1967, she married Gareth Flansburg, Sr. in Sunnyside, WA and divorced in 1980. April continued to raise her two sons as a single mother.

April loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved the ocean, painting, and music. Also, she was a longtime member of the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church.

April is survived by children; Gary Flansburg, Jr. of Richland, WA and Fred (Peggy) Flansburg of Kalispell, Montana. Also 4 grandchildren: Christopher, William (Billy), Savannah, and Josiah and three great grandchildren: Kyle, Titus, and Arik. She is also survived by a brother; Robert (Jenny) Hicks of Sunnyside and sister Merrylee Celius of Zillah.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Theodore (Ted) Hicks.

April will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life (potluck) will be held at the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 1:00. Inurnment will be at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA at a later date.
