Wonderful wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, beautiful sister, aunt and best friend Coleen B. Hazzard age 73 of Sunnyside, WA went to be in the arms of  her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Coleen was born November 9, 1942 in Carey, Idaho the daughter of Harold and Verlene (Kelly) Baird. Coleen graduated from Sunnyside High School with the class of 1960. She then attended Mary Stone Beauty School in Seattle, WA. On June 24, 1961 in Sunnyside, WA she married the love of her life Thomas “Tom” Hazzard. Coleen worked as a waitress at her family’s café “Baird’s Café for many years. She also held various positions at Safeway for twenty years before retiring. Coleen loved to sew, bake, go shopping and antiquing, spending time at Twin Lakes and cherished time with her family. She also enjoyed road trips, volunteering, being in the sunshine, trips to Hawaii and Disneyland with the grandchildren. Coleen was selfless, thoughtful, a great listener and the best pie maker ever especially banana cream. Her great sense of humor, beautiful smile and happy heart were constant virtues throughout her life. Coleen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sunnyside, WA.

Coleen is survived by her loving husband Tom Hazzard, two daughters Cassie Dalrymple (Randy) and Lori Gardner (Chris) all of Sunnyside, WA. She is also survived by six grandchildren Taylor Swofford (Dr. Brenen), Michael Gardner, Renee Dalrymple, Rita Dalrymple, CJ Dalrymple and Melissa Dalrymple, one sister Bonnie Kraft (Tom) and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Verlene Baird and one grandson Michael Bowers.

Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 12:30 to 6:30 pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyside, WA. Graveside service will be Monday, April 25, 2016 at 10:00 am at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA with Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 am at United Methodist Church in Sunnyside, WA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Sunnyside, WA.
