Dianne Waylan Korvola

Dianne Waylan Korvola 72 passed away on February 11th 2017 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born June 16th 1944 in Casper, Wyoming. Early in life her family moved to Pullman Washington, where she received her education and graduated from Pullman High School. It was while in Pullman that she met the love of her life and eventual husband Allan Korvola. They married on August 30th, 1963. Dianne was very supportive of Allan’s pursuit of his  higher education which landed them is Clarkston, Ellensburg and Moscow ID. During this time they celebrated the birth of their two sons and eventually landed in LaGrande Or during which time they were blessed with the birth of their daughter. In 1974 the family moved to Prosser, Wa where they made their home and raised their children. Dianne worked for Safeway for 10 years first a night stocking clerk and then moved up to cashier. After the stores closing she worked as a receptionist for Dr. Merkers dental office for 4 years. Then in the early 1991 Dianne took over the Korvola insurance agency so Allan could return to his passion of education. Dianne ran the office for twenty years until her retirement in 2011. During this time she enjoyed the many aspects of getting  to know many of the community members as well as having an opportunity to help and serve them. Her many interests in life include, reading, ceramics, watching and feeding her birds and enjoying her flower garden, she especially enjoyed spending time on her deck while enjoying the view of the valley. One of her greatest joys was the time she had to spend with her grandchildren, she was very supportive in all of their endeavors and always tried to make the time to see whatever events they were involved in. Dianne was a member of many organizations and groups throughout her life and career, with her most memorable and latest being a part of the Red Hatters organization.

Dianne was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Allan Edward Korvola. She is survived by her three children Brett Edward Korvola of Prosser, Heath Eric Korvola (Suzan) of Prosser, and Waylan Jay Funk (David) of Prosser, and four grandchildren Trevor Korvola of Big Sky Mt., Mason Korvola of Richland Wa, Corydon Funk of Prosser and Jaylan Funk of Pendelton Or.

At Dianne’s request no services will be held at this current time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the summer of 2017 for her and Allan.
