George S. Bryson, 74, passed away in the evening hours of January 18th, 2016 in Vancouver, WA after a battle with cancer.  He was born September 11, 1941 to Elise and Vernon Bryson in Red Oak, Iowa.  George had a full life with many blessings and adventures. As a young man he was a soldier in the United States Army, iron worker, crop duster, but settled in as a farmer in Prosser for the better part of his life.  He grew the sweetest cherries and apples around.  He also had a love for travel.  He traveled the United States, Mexico, and Canada with his motor homes, resided in Arizona in the cold winters, and even had the opportunity to travel to Asia.  He met many people along the way that became dear friends.

Besides traveling, George loved his family and faith as a Lutheran.  He hosted annual family reunions with his wife Judy that brought all the aunts, uncles, and cousins together.  He was a very generous, hard working man who had a tender side, but he could also be wise and tough.  George loved to debate, shop for the latest technology gadgets, and had a love for life! He will be missed greatly and never forgotten.

George is survived by his son Gary Bryson of Vancouver, WA; daughter Heidi McGraw of Yacolt, WA; as well as his much loved four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Judy Bryson and sons Kevin Martin and Jerry Stickler.

A Memorial service will be held at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyside, WA at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 29th, 2016 inurnment will follow at the Grandview Cemetery, Grandview, WA.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Community Home Health and Hospice of Vancouver, WA. Those wishing to sign George’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com  Smith Funeral Homes Ltd. and Crematory in care of arrangements.
