Guadalupe Barajas

Guadalupe Maria Barajas, age 85, of Mabton, WA passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 in Sunnyside, WA. She was born on January 3, 1931 in Jalisco, Mexico the daughter of Emiliano and Jovita (Primentel) Barajas. Guadalupe worked as a farm worker to help care for her family. She loved music, dancing, singing, playing cards and spending time with family. Guadalupe loved to joke around and gave nick names to everyone. She also enjoyed giving advice abundantly and praying for everyone daily. Guadalupe was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mabton.  

She is survived by her children Victoria (Rigoberto) Galvan of Mexico, Miguel (Maria) Barajas of Grandview, WA, Maria (Ruben) Mendoza of Menifee, CA, Amparo (Vincente) Alvarez of Mexico, Roberto (Dora) Barajas, Carmen (Jose) Espinoza, Jose Luis (Flora) Barajas all of Grandview,WA, Leticia (Pedro) Alvarez of Fontana, CA, Jorge (Josie) Barajas of Mabton, WA, Juan (Veronica) Barajas  and Sonia Barajas both of Sunnyside, WA. Guadalupe is also survived by 51 grandchildren and 67 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Barajas.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 2:00  to 8:00 pm with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Grandview, WA.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview, WA.
