James Walter Smith

James Walter Smith age 85 of Outlook, WA passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015 in Outlook, WA. James was born November 5, 1929 in Sunnyside, WA the son of Walter and Alice (Hicks) Smith. He attended Sunnyside Schools. James married Dina “Carol” Lund on March 12, 1953 in Sunnyside, WA. In 1954 James enlisted in the Army. James worked as a Boiler/Refrigeration Operator at Welch’s for many years.  James loved gardening, fishing, hunting and wood working. He was a member of NRA and the Outlook Church.

James is survived by his loving wife Carol Smith of Outlook, WA, six children; Jacque Whalen (Dick) of Grandview, WA, Debra Broers (Rick) of Yakima, WA., Jamie Weenink (Gary) of Sunnyside, WA., Ronald Smith (Mary) of Idaho, David Smith (Lynn) of Grandview, WA. and Kirk Smith (Ginna) of Oregon. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Alice Smith, three siblings Dorthy Stafford, Donna Hill and Loyal Smith.

Viewing and visitation will be Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 1:00 to 7:00 pm and Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, WA. Graveside service with Military Honors will be Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 1:30 pm at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA. Followed by a Funeral service at 2:30 pm at the Neighborhood Assembly of God Church in Sunnyside, WA.
