Joyce E. Shinn

Joyce E. Shinn, age 78, of Yakima, WA and former Sunnyside resident passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in Yakima, WA.  Joyce was born on November 12, 1937 in Toppenish, WA the daughter of Elmer Adams and Veda (Copeland) Hickenbottom.  She received her education in Sunnyside graduating with the Class of 1955.  Joyce attended beauty school in Seattle, WA for one year.   In 1971 she began her ten year employment as a fabricator for Boeing in Seattle, WA.  After retirement in 1993, Joyce moved to Sunnyside, WA.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Joyce was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sunnyside, WA. 

She is survived by daughter, Brenda Waisanen, son Richard Shinn  and daughter-in-law Theresa all of Yakima, WA.  Two granddaughters Katrina Shinn and Kellie Shinn.  Three great grandchildren Sadie Shinn, Athena Shinn and Keera Shinn, sister Lola Kay Paulson of Auburn, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.   She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Veda Hickenbottom, son in law Toby Waisanen and brother Robert Hickenbottom.
