I wanted to Thank Max and Les for the best customer service at Amundson's Hardware, I have ever experienced in my lifetime. I spent a lot of time there getting galvanized pipes cut and threaded on the lathe. Never had a leak, in the houses, barn, or greenhouse. They were exemplary in their jobs, and I always felt like an important customer, however small my purchase. TY, Les Amundson. My deepest sympathy to Max and his sisters, Les was a Great Man and Father, I know.

We will forever remember the fun times we had in the Amundson household, while visiting their foster daughter, Jerri Setter. Donna and she were close friends during their high school years. We would love to be contacted by her!
God Bless all of you during this time of mourning!

So sorry for your loss. I remember the store, and going with my dad, Dan Norman to sheer his sheep. Although my fondest memories are sharing time with the ExPOW group, and always visiting With Les & family at vetrans events. What a brave & sweet man...he is missed

I write this with an empty hole in my heart. The losses of long time core community members is hard. Having spent my young years in the downtown thriving Sunnyside, Amundson Hardware was a go to place! I still have the wooen rocking chair I coveted, found money for and bought for the birth of our first baby!
Thank you Les for your service to our country and community.

Les, you will be missed by us and everyone who knew you, you were a great friend.
You asked me if I still went to the Netherlands every year, yes I did. I am happy that you asked me to call the family in Friesland where you stayed for a time when your plane was shot down if you could visit them,. they were thrilled to see you again. You were shot down only 9 miles from our house in Burdaard. Our sincere condolences to the Amundson family.

To the Amundson Family,
My heart breaks that you(we) have lost both Amundsons within a month, but Les and Helen are together again- no more pain and just in love as they always were! Mr Les, the war hero, hardware man and just a good guy will be remembered by many in the Lower Yakima Valley. Morning coffees, puttering around the community and providing a lot of leadership over the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during these difficult times- Nancy Boettcher and Duane Depping
