Lois Schilperoort Obituary

Lois M. Schilperoort, age 78 longtime Grandview resident passed away Monday, Feb 26, 2018 in Sunnyside,WA. Lois was born April 2, 1939 in Harlowton, Montana the daughter of George and Florence Oliver. In 1953 the family moved from Montana to Ellensburg, WA. where she received her education. Right out of high school she married Harold Beck.  Lois worked in the fields as a farm laborer.  She later met Gerrit Sr. and they were married on April 17, 1982. They lived in Grandview, WA while raising their family and farming. Lois and Gerrit Sr. were very well known at the 10-4 cafe in Grandview, WA. Gerrit Jr. and Gene remember numerous trips to Montana as children to go visit family. After all of the children were grown Gerrit Sr. and Lois liked to travel before moving to Packwood, WA. in 1999. A few years later she moved to Goldendale, WA.  After spending a few years in Goldendale she moved to Sun Terrace in Prosser, WA. where she loved doing her puzzles, bead work, playing bingo & attending the dog race's which was an activity at the facility.  While living at Sun Terrace she loved visiting with her friends and employees.  Lois is survived by: Linda Hager, Michael Beck, Gerrit Schilperoort  Jr, Gene Schilperoort,  9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Lewis "Bud" & Larry, 1 sister Helen,

Preceded in death by both of her parents,  husband Gerrit Schilperoort, Sr., 1 son Richard Beck, 1 brother Lester Oliver.

Viewing  and visitation will be Saturday March 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 with a Graveside Service at 1:00 at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens. Dinner to follow at the Grandview Community Church of God, 914 Wine Country Rd. Grandview, WA. 98930.
