Maria Clara Ledesma

Maria Clara Ledesma, age 88, of Grandview, WA passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in Sunnyside, WA.  Maria was born on August 12, 1927 in Edinburg, TX the daughter of Simon and Concepcion (Arevalo) Castilleja.  On March 13, 1948 she married Francisco “Frank” R. Ledesma in Edinburg, TX.  Maria was an agricultural worker and enjoyed gardening, puzzles, cooking, embroidering and caring for grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prosser, WA.

Maria is survived by her husband, Francisco “Frank” R. Ledesma of Grandview, WA.  Four children Lydia Ledesma, Sylvia Ledesma and Ray Ledesma (Cristina) all of Grandview and Mario Ledesma (Linda) of Prosser, WA.  Eight grandchildren Yvonne Jasso (Raul), Michelle Suarez, Nick Suarez, Nicole Ledesma,  Lauren Ledesma, Anthony Ledesma, David Ledesma and Michael Ledesma; three great grandchildren Chezy Jasso, Elijah Jasso and Aniah Suarez. She is also survived by three brothers Eusebio Castilleja, Efrain Castilleja and Sebastain Castilleja.  Maria is preceded in death by her parents Concepcion and Simon Castilleja, two brothers Rafael Castilleja and Albert Castilleja and one sister Josepha Rodriguez.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday September 7, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview, WA.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.  at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prosser, WA.  Burial will follow at the East Prosser Cemetery under the care of the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview, WA.   Those wishing to sign Maria online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com
