Ralph C. Barnes

Ralph Barnes age 74 of Prosser, WA went to be in the arms of his loving Saviour Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in Yakima, WA. He was born April 8, 1942 in Tyronza, Arkansas the son of Claud and Millie (Cooper) Barnes. Ralph moved to Washington from Arkansas as a young man where he met “the love of his life” Linda McCaskey.  They were married October 28, 1967. Nine months and 3 days later their daughter Christie was born. Then in 1991 a granddaughter Jessica was born and in 1996 a grandson Noah, that made his life complete. Ralph doted on his grandchildren, grandpa was their best friend.

Ralph worked for Roza Irrigation for 25 years, he retired in 1997.  Ralph was a man of integrity; he was a hardworking man who believed the best in people.  He most of all loved his family.  His favorite thing to do besides being with family and friends was fishing and camping. 

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents Claud and Millie Barnes and a dear brother W.A. Barnes.  He is survived by his wife of 49 years Linda Barnes, his daughter Christie Kanzler (Kyle), granddaughter Jessica Greathouse, grandson Noah Greathouse, sisters Rilla Mathis, Jean Roberts, and Shirley Burson.

Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, November 14, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Grandview, WA. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 11:00 am at Smith Funeral Home Grandview, WA with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery in Grandview, WA.
