Welcome to the memorial page for

Robert "Bob" Clarence Walker

April 23, 1962 ~ August 1, 2015 (age 53) 53 Years Old

Robert C. (Bob) Walker passed away of an apparent heart attack at his home in Grandview, Washington on August 1, 2015.  Bob graduated from Grandview High School in 1980 and almost immediately went to work in the auto body business, working for Dick’s Velvet Hammer.  Within a few years, Bob opened his own business, Walker’s Auto Body, which he owned and operated for over 30 years.

Bob loved everything that had to do with cars and was a proud “Ford guy.”  His many hobbies and interests included restoring classic cars, and collecting antique toy cars.  He was a NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed racing his own cars at Renegade Raceway.  Besides his interests in cars, Bob was an animal lover and rescued hundreds of animals over the years.  Not many people can say they tried to take a squirrel to the vet, but Bob could.

Bob was also a loving family man who cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He came home for lunch daily to spend time with his partner in love, Theresa Hunter, and take his granddaughters, Kendra, Ellie, and Kelsie on regular lunch dates.  Bob was looking forward to the newest addition to his family with a beautiful grandson, Cole, who is due to arrive in December.

Bob is survived by his parents, Bud and Linda Walker of Grandview; his son Rob (Kari) Walker of Grandview, and daughter Amanda (Richard) Wallingford of Benton City; his grandchildren, Kendra, Kelsey, and Ellie, Maddison, Haylee, Darrian, Joey, Gunner, and Zane; his partner, Theresa Hunter and her children Joey, Jamie, Josh, Derrick, and Michelle. He is also survived by his sister Julie (Heath) Herel of Niantic, CT; his brother Gary (Nicole) Walker of Grandview, nieces Courtney Durado, and Hailey Walker, his nephew Braden Walker, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Bob is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Louise Walker and Clifford and Ethel Lyon of Grandview.

Services will be held at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, on Friday August 7, 2015 at 11 a.m.  A private family graveside service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Yakima Valley Pet Rescue at www.yvpr.org. Those wishing to sign Bob’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com Smith Funeral Home Ltd. and Crematory in care of arrangements.
