What a wonderful lady who was deeply admired by all. She was a great cook. In fact we were blessed to have her cater our wedding rehearsal dinner. She was such a generous and lively soul. Her legacy will echo in Grandview with constant admiration and inspiration.

Lizzy and Matt and family. What a joy your mom was. After reminiscing with my mom, Adrienne she reminds me that we still make one of our favorite recipes and that is the steak and dumpling recipe we got from Ruth. We will not only always be country neighbors but we will always be family. Sincerely your nurse and family friend, Colleen R.N.

When I was in high school, Ruth and Charles took over as MYF leaders and boy did we have fun. We spent a few summer evenings on the Yakima River west of Prosser as other activities at the house just after the catering business got up and running. These activities didn't necessarily go over very big with some of the adults back at church - after all, we were supposed to be gathered in a "worshipful manner". Having fun seemed to be forbidden! I went back to the house for class reunions a couple times and it was great. I always remember those times as very special !!!

God blessed all of us who got the privilege of knowing her.

My thoughts are with you Uncle Chuck, Liz, Mike, and Judy, and all your families. Dad and I talked yesterday of many memories of Aunt Ruth and Uncle Chuck...the chicken raising business, that huge catering kitchen, all the light up Christmas village houses in the entry room, the family reunions on the patio, and more recently my visits to the new house with gorgeous deck and garden, and Aunt Ruth's definite opinions on anything you could mention. Wish I could make it over the mountains , but will send donation to Hospice in memory. Take care Uncle Chuck! Lois Danks

Ruth was our neighbor, friend, " Grandma", and neighborhood watch Sargent! We enjoyed her visits and quick whit, but most of all, her honest and heartfelt advice and opinions. There are far too many stories to tell, but we will miss her as part of our family and daily lives.

We send our sincere condolences to Chuck, Lizzy, as well as all of Ruth's Family. She was truly one of a kind, and will be missed by so many. Love to you all-

Ruth and I were sister-in-laws, for way too short a time. I was married to her brother, Charles, for 25 years, before he passed away.. The few times we were together I definitely saw Ruth's 'talents and gifts'....and what an asset she was to Grandview and her family. Her humor was great! I also thought she and Charlie were also very thoughtful of their parents....another 'gift.' My love goes out to Chuck and the entire family. I am so glad she died peacefully. Love, Elie

I am so very sorry. Ruth was a part of my life for so many years--from our first GHS Class of 1960 reunion out at Ashley's over 30 years and before that with many Jr. Miss events. She and her family were always so generous in supporting us. There was no one quite like her, and she will leave a big hole in the fabric of the Grandview community. May she rest in peace. My heart goes out to all of you.
