Sybil Duncan

Sybil Duncan Age 80, of Sunnyside, WA passed away on Sept. 2, 2015 peacefully while in the care of Prestige Care in Sunnyside with her eldest daughter Laura at her side.She raised her six children by herself and in 1975 she packed up her family from the big city of Seattle and moved to Tulalip where she met the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Duncan, they married in 1978.  They had 20 wonderful years together before he passed away in 1998.She lived in the home she had built for her family for 32 years.  She spent endless hours working in her yard no challenge was ever too tough for Sybil.  If there was a way to get it done she figured it out.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dick, parents, Forrest and Anita Weathers and her brother’s Keith and Norm.  She is survived by her brother Doug and her sister’s Betty, Beverly and Barbara.  She is also survived by all of her children, Laura Tollefson, Robert Mendenhall, Jim Mendenhall (wife Renata), John Mendenhall (wife Linda), Sarah Snyder (husband Will) and Bill Mendenhall (wife Teresita).  In addition she leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  Her battle with Alzheimer’s is over and she is now resting in peace with our heavenly father.A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Prestige for the exceptional care and support they have given to our mother with special gratitude to Dr. Couturier.   Also the staff of Hospice for making her last few days comfortable and peaceful.
