Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, Vera M. Josephine Jensen, went to be in the arms of our Heavenly Father on November 8, 2016, while surrounded by her loving family.  Vera was born April 2, 1927, in Breslau, Germany and was the daughter of Karl and Margarit Weiss.  She received her education in Germany.  Vera met the love of her life, Keith Jensen, while he was serving in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. On February 8, 1949, she and Keith were married.  They moved to Bickleton, WA shortly after their marriage where they farmed and logged.  Vera was a member of the Alder Creek Pioneer Association, the Bickleton Goodwill Society, the Bickleton Sewing Club, and the Bickleton Presbyterian Church.  She was an avid quilter, tole painter, cook, and baker.  Vera cherished time spent with her entire family; each family event brought with it good food, laughter, and many happy memories.  Vera is survived by sons, Larry Jensen (Pamela), John Jensen (Colleen), all of Bickleton, WA; daughters, Irene Schmidt (Mike) of Sequim, WA, Sally Luiten (Dale) of Medical Lake, WA, and Sue Key of Port Angeles, WA. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one brother, Jochien Weiss of Germany. Vera is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, James Jensen and Russell Jensen, and two daughters, Mary Lehman and Gabrielle Kramer.  Vera’s family would like to say thank you to the staff at Sun Terrace and Heart Links Hospice for the love and care-giving you provided for our beloved Mother.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bickleton Evangelical Community Church in Bickleton, WA.  Those wishing to honor Vera’s memory may contribute to the Bickleton Goodwill Society or Heart Links Hospice.  Those wishing to sign Vera’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com  Smith Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
