W.A. Barnes

W.A. Barnes age 84 of Grandview, Washington passed away at his home on Monday, August 22, 2016 in Grandview.  W.A. was born May 18, 1932 in Oxford, Arkansas the son of Claude and Millie (Cooper) Barnes. He received his early education in Arkansas and completed the 9th grade at Violet Hill School in Violet Hill, Arkansas. On February 4, 1972 he married Allean Georgie O’Donald in Kansas City, Missouri. W.A. was a ditch rider for SVID for 17 years before retiring and running a family owned cherry farm.  W.A. enjoyed maintaining his home, yard and farm in Grandview, WA. He also loved spending time with family and friends. W.A. attended Life Point Church in Prosser, WA.

W.A. is survived by his loving wife A. Georgie Barnes of Grandview, WA and daughter Debby Barnes Falck (Dale) of Independence, Missouri, three grandchildren Emily Falck Banfield (Chad), Rebecca Falck (Stephenson) and Robert Falck (Alyssa) and five great grandchildren Nathaniel, Natalie, Adalyn, Liliana and Trenton. He is also survived by three sisters Rilla Mathis, Marva Jean Roberts, Shirley Burson Barnes, one brother Ralph Barnes and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Millie Barnes and aunts and uncles on both sides of his family.

Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, August 26, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Grandview, WA. Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Grandview, WA with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery in Grandview, WA.
