Daniel Alaniz Obituary

Daniel Alaniz Sr. age 87 of Sunnyside returned to his Heavenly home on Saturday, April 20, 2024 in Sunnyside, WA. He was born January 1, 1937 in Mexico. Daniel was raised in Texas but moved to Washington State for farm labor. In 1970 he and his family of seven settled down in Grandview, WA.

Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing and dancing. He also loved looking at his flower garden and spending time with family and friends.

Daniel is preceded in death by his son Noe Alaniz, parents and longtime companion Rosa Saldana. He is survived by his ex-wife Maria Rodriguez, Children Martin (Gloria) Alaniz, Noemi (Ricardo Sr.) Ramirez, Daniel Jr. (Julie) Alaniz, Noel (Rita) Alaniz, Noelee (Russel) Jordan and several grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview, WA.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Grandview, WA. Burial will follow at the Grandview Cemetery, Grandview, WA. Those wishing to sign Daniel's online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com   Smith Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
