Juan Pedroza Hurtado

Juan Pedroza Hurtado passed peacefully surrounded by family in Richland, WA under the care of wonderful staff at Kadlec Regional Medical Center on Sunday March 3, 2024 at the age of 83. Juan was born on June 16, 1940 in Jalisco, Mexico to Magdaleno Pablin Pedroza and Bernabe Hurtado. Juan is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Maria Pedroza (Garcia),  six children; Juana (Gabriel), Cecilia (Protacio), Juan Carlos (Tania), Eduardo (Alondra), Gricelda (Abel), and Yareli, 12 grandchildren; Gabriel Jr, Hector, Giovanni, Estefania, Jonathan Fernando, Adan Protacio, Carlos Fernando, Axcel Josue, Mateo, Regina, Abel Alonzo, and Abram Alijah, and three sisters; Angelina, Romelia, and Adela. Preceded in death by his parents Magdaleno Pablin and Bernabe, his son Ricardo, and his sisters Jesus and Pachita. Juan spent his early adolescence working plowing the land with ox and general labor. He migrated to the United States at the age of 20 in search of a better life. He worked in California, Oregon and ultimately settled in Washington. He made a living performing various agricultural jobs, spending many years as a gardener and harvesting flowers, working cherry, pear, and apple harvests as well as hop harvest. He greatly enjoyed working, retiring at the age of 79. Juan’s greatest passion was being outside tending to flower gardens and various plants. He also loved feeding the neighborhood stray cats. Juan was a devout Catholic and a practicing member of Blessed Sacrament in Grandview. Juan was loved and respected by many, leaving friends behind wherever he went.  He is missed dearly and remembered fondly. 

Viewing and Visitation will he held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview, WA with the Rosary taking place at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 10:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church in Grandview, WA with Graveside services to follow at Grandview Cemetery. Juan Pedroza Hurtado falleció rodeado de su familia en Richland, WA, bajo el cuidado del personal de Kadlec Regional Medical Center el Domingo 3 de Marzo del 2024 a la edad de 83 años. Juan nació el 16 de Junio del 1940 en Jalisco, México, a Magdaleno Pablin Pedroza y Bernabé Hurtado. A Juan le sobreviven su amada esposa de 47 años, María Pedroza (García), seis hijos; Juana (Gabriel), Cecilia (Protacio), Juan Carlos (Tania), Eduardo (Alondra), Gricelda (Abel) y Yareli, doce nietos(as) Gabriel Jr, Héctor, Giovanni, Estefanía, Jonathan Fernando, Adán Protacio, Carlos Fernando, Axcel Josué, Mateo, Regina, Abel Alonzo y Abram Alijah, y tres hermanas; Angelina, Romelia, y Adela.  Le precedieron en muerte sus padres Magdaleno Pablín y Bernabé, su hijo Ricardo, y sus hermanas Jesús y Pachita. Juan pasó su adolescencia trabajando arando la tierra con bueyes y haciendo trabajo de campo. Emigró a los Estados Unidos a la edad de 20 años en busca de una vida mejor. Trabajó en California, Oregón y finalmente se estableció en Washington. Se ganaba la vida realizando diversos trabajos agrícolas, pasando muchos años como jardinero, en la cosecha de flores, cerezas, peras y manzanas, también en la cosecha del jape. Era un hombre muy trabajador, jubilándose a los 79 años. Juan era feliz y contento andando afuera en el aire libre trabajando en sus jardines de flores y hortalizas. También le encantaba alimentar a los gatos callejeros del vecindario. Juan era un Católico devoto y miembro practicante de la Iglesia Sagrado Corazon en Grandview. Juan fue querido y respetado por muchos, dejando amigos por donde fuera que iba. A Juan se le extrañará mucho y será recordado con cariño.

El velorio y la visitación se llevarán a cabo el Martes 12 de Marzo del 2024, de 4:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. en la Funeraria Smith en Grandview, WA, el Rosario se llevará acabo a las 6:00 p.m. La Misa de cuerpo presente será el Miércoles 13 de Marzo del 2024 a las 10:00 am en la Iglesia Sagrado Corazón en Grandview, WA, con servicios junto a la tumba en el Cementerio de Grandview en seguida.
