Nellie Kielstra

Nellie Kielstra passed away March 7, 2024.  She lived for almost 100 years and was widely known as the lady always riding around town on her red moped. She had a feisty spirit and an independence that gave her a large personality in a small package. Born in the Netherlands in October 1924, Nellie was one of nine children. Raised in Holland she immigrated to the US in 1954 and became an Outlook resident where she lived and worked on many knitted projects for the last 70 years. Her scarves, hats, mittens, booties to just name a few are worn and loved by many.  She will be missed and forever remembered.
She is survived by her 3 children- Tressa Kelly, Reinie Kielstra, and Wilma Perez. 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Bill Kielstra, all of her siblings, and one great-grandson.
