Aida Torres

Aida Torres, age 67, of Mabton, WA passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at her home in Mabton, WA.  She was born on December 14, 1948 in Elsa, Texas the daughter of Ramon Luna Arteaga and Maria de los Angeles Sandoval Macias.  Aida was a faithful member of the Jehovah witness Kingdom Hall of Prosser, WA.  She loved attending church and going out and preaching, helping others learn what the Bible says. 

She is survived by her husband, Ricardo Torres Varel Sr. of Mabton, WA.  Three sons, Rick Torres Jr. of Mabton, WA., Jose Torres of Benton City, WA and Rafael Torres of  Yakima, WA.  Two daughters, Mary Garcia of Spokane, WA and Angela Torres Calderon of Grandview, WA.  Aida is also survived by mother, Maria de los Angeles Sandoval Macias,  ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren, nine brothers Jose Luis Arteaga Sandoval, Raul Varela Sandoval and Jose Varela Sandoval all of Zacatecas, Mexico.  Jaime Arteaga of Liberty Lake, Wa, Mateo Arteaga of Yakima, WA, Albert Arteaga Burbank, WA, Ramon Arteaga of Yakima, WA, Antonio Arteaga of Covington, WA and Pedro Arteaga of Bronx, NY.  Three sisters, Rita Varela Sandoval of Zacatecas, Mexico, Josie Arteaga of Sunnyside, WA and Maria Arteaga of Spokane, WA.   She is preceded in death by her father, Ramon Arteaga and an infant son, Benito Torres. 

Viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, WA.  Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA.  Burial will follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA.  Those wishing to sign Aida’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com   Smith Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
