Alison Marie Burnes, age 64, was called to heaven on Monday, October 30, 2017 after a long struggle with Multiple Sclerosis and breast cancer. Surrounded by family, she passed away peacefully at her home in Granger, Wa. Born July 28, 1953 in New York City to Edward and Olga Braniff, she was the second of nine children.
In 1971-1972, Alison became a certified beautician in Colorado and Florida. She moved to Washington in 1979, where she continued a career in beauty and opened Alison’s Hair Design in Zillah. On April 12, 1985, she married Jack Burnes and together they raised six beautiful children.
Alison’s quick wit brought laughter to every life she touched. She had a genuine gift of reaching people in a loving positive way. Her strong Catholic faith and a never ending love for her children, sustained her through this journey as she exemplified amazing strength and courage, smiling through it all.
Alison is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Jack; sons, Levi and Eric; daughters, Danielle, Brianna, Leah and Melanie; her mother Olga Braniff; brothers, Edward, Kevin (Patricia), Chris (Lori), Timothy (Kari); sisters, Therese and Brigid; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Alison was preceded in death by her father, Edward Braniff; brothers, Martin and Joseph; and niece, Elizabeth.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the Memorial Hospice team for their outstanding care and compassion. To Alison, our Angel, “we love you bunches and bunches, up to the sky, forever and ever and back again!”
