Alvin Gable Obituary

Alvin Dale Gable, age 90, passed away on December 14, 2018 in Sunnyside, Washington. He was born to loving parents Arthur and Margaret Murphy Gable on December 10, 1928 in Riverton, Nebraska. Alvin served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He married the beautiful Emma Clare on January 23, 1947 in Kittitas, Washington. Together they started a wonderful life, their family included their son Rick and three daughters Vikki, Patti, and Robin.

Alvin was a dedicated husband and father, his profession was as a rancher and heavy equipment operator. During his free time he played western music in a band, sang and played guitar. He is a long time member of the VFW and Eagles.

Alvin is survived by his son Rick Gable and daughters Vikki Shurtleff and Patti Gable. He is also survived by four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Emma, daughter Robin Gannon, daughter-in-law Barbara Gable and grandson Ricky Gable.

Graveside service with Military Honors will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens. Those wishing to sign Alvin’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com Smith Funeral Homes in care of arrangements.
