Apolinar C. “A.C.” Morales, age 90, of Sunnyside, WA and former Grandview resident and business man passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 in Sunnyside, WA. A.C. was born on July 25, 1928 in Edinburg, TX the son of Mikayla (Castilleja) and Enrique Morales. In 1954 A.C. married the love of his life, Leonor Urbina in Toppenish, WA. The Morales Family would follow the working seasons from Texas to the Lower Valley until settling in 1965 in Whitstran, WA and later Grandview, WA. A.C. was the owner and operator of Morales Trucking and Son’s until it merge into N.W.C. He was a member of both the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview, WA and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, WA. A.C. had a strong work ethic and was proud to provide for his family. After retirement A.C. loved to go to flea market sales and bring back many treasures to share with family and friends. He and Leonor would travel to Portland, OR to attended church services at The Grotto.
A.C. is survived by his wife of 66 years, Leonor, Morales of Sunnyside, WA. Children Oscar Morales (Debbie Rubacava) of Sunnyside, WA, Martin Morales (Diana) of Grandview, WA, Dora Paris (Ron) of Hermiston, OR, Ruben Morales (Mariselda) of Grandview, WA, Oralia Garcia (Darren Swanson) of Sunnyside, WA, Janie Davis (Alex) of Grandview, WA and Daniel Morales (Sanjuana Trevino) of Zillah, WA. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Sister Guadalupe Urbina of Sunnyside, WA and Brother Ben Morales of Marysville, WA, two half brothers, Manuel Morales and Juan Morales both of Grandview, WA. He is preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Adam Oscar Morales, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, WA. Those wishing to sign A.C.’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com Smith Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
