Armando Chavez age 29, lifetime Grandview, WA resident died Friday, August 3, 2018 at Astria Sunnyside Hospital. Armando Chavez was born April 23, 1989 at Prosser, WA.
He spent his early rears and received his education in Grandview, WA. Following his education he continued to make his home in Grandview where he worked as a general laborer. He enjoyed working out, as a young man playing A.A.U. Basketball, spending time with his children and family, enjoyed a good meal and especially BBQ. He loved listening to music, driving and taking road trips, doing favors for his friends and family and always keeping in close touch with his mom. He never said no to his dad when it came to helping with his dad’s semi-trucks. Armando was an avid Seahawks fan and could usually be seen wearing a white tee shirt. Armando is survived by his parents, Arcelia and Pedro Chavez of Grandview, WA. His children Layla Chavez and Armando Chavez Jr. of Oregon. Sisters and brothers, Dora Cerda of Mabton, WA, Roy Cerda and Alma of Texas, Rosie Cerda and Joel Ruiz of Prosser, WA, Peter Chavez and Celina Ruiz of Grandview, WA and special nephew of Roy Cerda III of Prosser, WA and Tina Guevara of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 2pm to 8pm at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary starting at 6pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview, WA. with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery, in Grandview, WA.
