Armilda Gaye Hart passed away in Yakima on January 9, 2019. Armilda was born in Calico Rock, Arkansas in November 1933 to Jasper and Audie Gillihan. Her family moved to Sunnyside Washington in the early 1940’s. She graduated from Sunnyside High School in 195. In November 1951, she married her high school sweetheart Kenneth Hart. They purchased a 20 acre farm in Outlook in 1953. They lived on the farm until they built a new home in Sunnyside in 1966. In 1991, they bought a home in West Valley.
Armilda loved working with Kenny on their homes. You could typically find them working together creating their beautifully landscaped yards. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing and making ceramics. She loved spending time with friends in the Yakima Valley and visiting with her son Randy and daughter-in-law Lucy in the Seattle area.
Armilda is preceded in death by her husband Kenny, her parents, her sister Geneva Brook, brothers Doyne Gillihan and Jack Gillihan. She is survived by her son Randy.
