Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all passed away on November 23, 2018 at Vancouver, WA. Born at home on January 27, 1927, at Zillah, WA to Chris and Edna Petersen, Betty attended school in Zillah. She was the fourth of seven children. Her father Chris passed away when Betty was seven years old. Betty married the love of her life, our Dad, Wayne O. Miland on October 15, 1943 in Tacoma, WA. They made their home in numerous towns and cities over the years in Oregon, Washington, and California as Wayne was a lifelong truck driver. Together they raised six children. When Wayne retired, they settled permanently in East Wenatchee. Betty was a homemaker most of her married life; she canned fruit, made beautiful afghans, and was an avid oil painter. She was a member of Cascade Artists in Wenatchee and a member of the Wenatchee Valley Senior Center. She loved to visit on the phone, spend time with her family, go out to lunch, and she was a wonderful letter writer. After the death of her husband, Betty moved to Vancouver, WA to be closer to her other daughter and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Rod (Judy) Miland of Chugiak, Alaska ~ Marsha Eller of Ukiah, Cali ~ Kathy (Jerry) Ledoux of Wenatchee, Wa ~ Sheryl (Dallas) Murphy of Cathlamet, Wa ~ Jeff (Taya) Miland of Leavenworth, Wa ~ and Anne Miland of East Wenatchee, Wa.
