Carol "Chris" Snow Obituary

Carol “Chris” N. Snow, 93, died peacefully January 3, 2019, at her home in Sequim, Washington, where she resided for the past 29 years.

She was born December 27, 1925, in Yakima, Washington to her parents John and Ina (Crayne) Cole.  Chris grew up in Toppenish, Washington and graduated from Toppenish High School with the class of 1945.  Following graduation she worked as a teller at Seafirst Bank in Toppenish.  She later became head teller at Old National Bank in Sunnyside, Washington.  On February 11, 1950, she married Harold F. Snow at her grandfather’s home in Toppenish.  Chris and Harold began their married life living on a 50-acre farm in Outlook, Washington raising Suffolk sheep.  This was one of the happiest times in her life.  Working as a bookkeeper in 1950, Chris joined the family business of Snow and Sons Produce Company in Outlook.  She worked for the company for 30 years and retired in 1980 as Secretary/Treasurer of the company.  In January 1990 Chris and Harold moved to Sequim to enjoy their retirement years.  Chris was an expert bridge player, she loved the game and it kept her mind sharp her entire life.

Chris is survived by her loving family; son and caregiver for 27 years, Frank Snow of Sequim, Washington; daughter and son-in-law Chris and Dan Montgomery of Richland, Washington; three granddaughters Lexie (Chris) Rapp of White House, Tennessee; Sierra (Jeff) Volaski of St. Louis, Missouri; Lacey (Cameron) Johnson of Pasco, Washington; and five great-grandchildren Emerson and Hudson Volaski, Colt Johnson, and Preslea and Danny Rapp. She is also survived by her nephews Gary and Larry Cole, niece Carol Case and her cousin Patti Ohall.  Chris was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ron Cole, in 1983; and her husband, Harold Snow, in 1991.

At Chris’s request, no services will be held.  A private family service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to sign Chris’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com.  Smith Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
