Cherry Fairbanks Obituary

Dr. Cherry A Fairbanks

Extreme Shopper, Professional Napper, Elegant Fashionista often seen sporting colorful hair, died on Wednesday September 25th, 2019.

She was a beloved educator, receiving her Doctorate in Special Education from Cambridge University, eventually earning the role of an Education Administrator.  On October 25th, 2002 she married Mitchell Morse in Sunnyside WA.  First and foremost, Cherry was a wonderful mother and grandmother.  She was musically inclined, able to play multiple instruments and was blessed with a wonderful singing voice.  She was an animal lover, avid traveler, loved to read, going to rock and gem shows, and collecting jewelry.

She was active in her community and the Nazarene church.  She belonged Kiwanis, the Red Hat Society, Novella Club, Young at Heart, and was a singer in the Over the Hill band.  Always willing to lend a helping hand, she tutored at the Extra Mile Student Center and was a proud supporter of the Special Olympics.

Cherry is preceded in death by her parents and husband Mitchell Morse.  She is survived by her brother, Donald Fairbanks (wife Pat Fairbanks and daughter Cathy Fairbanks), son, Jason Morse (husband Bob LaFrance), daughter, Shauna Howe (Robert Howe), grandchildren Sharon Garcia, RJ Garcia, and Demi Howe, and great grandchildren, Hennesy, Harley, and Hayden.

Her memorial will be held at 4:00 PM Monday September 30, 2019 at the Grandview Nazarene Church.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Cherry’s memory may contribute to Sunnyside Special Olympics or the Extra Mile Student Center (www.extramilecenter.org)  Mailing address: Extra Mile Student Center P.O.
