Daniel Lee Santos of Sunnyside, was born on September 27, 1955 in Oakland CA. His parents, both deceased were James Santos of Kalaheo Kauai and Louise Tiffany of San Leandro CA. After a 4 year battle with liver cancer, he went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 2nd, 2018.
Dan is survived by his wife Karen of 21 years. Two daughters, Kara Lee Brown and Jean Louise Santos, both of Salem Oregon. His son-in-law Jeff Brown, and four cherished grandchildren, Caleb, Samaria, Isabel and Oliviay. His first wife of 20 years, Lani Kirschman, who also lives in Salem Oregon with her current husband, Raleigh.
Dan grew up in the Bay Area of California and served 2 years with the United States Navy. In 1979, Dan and his wife left California and moved to the Tri-Cities in Washington. In 1988 they moved to Sunnyside where he has lived since.
Dan was a very involved member of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church and Over the Hill Theatricals. He was also a member of Yakima Chapter M Goldwing Road Riders Association and the Sunnyside Elks.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 16th. A military salute and flag ceremony, honoring Dan’s service to his country will be at 9 AM at the Sunnyside Veterans Memorial Plaza. Proceeding from there, a celebration of life service will be held at Sunnyside Presbyterian Church. Followed by a lunch reception in the Fellowship Hall of the Church. Donations in his memory can be made to either the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church or Over the Hill Theatricals.
