Darline M. Kinsey

On January 12, 2019 Darline M. Kinsey “The Rock” of our family was reunited with the love of her life Lyle in God’s Heavenly Kingdom. Mom was a Sunnyside graduate with the class of 1948. Having had her engagement ring since the age of 16 she wasted no time becoming Mrs. Lyle Kinsey! After their wedding on September 21, 1948 Mom and Dad would continue on farming and making their home in Sunnyside. Always working side by side, with Mom running the asparagus crews and Dad letting her have her time as boss. In 1980, Mom and Dad along with us four boys would establish Kinsey Farms. Mom was not only the world’s greatest to our family but was also Mom and Grandma to many of her church family being a life long member of the Neighborhood Assembly of God Church. There was never a summer day at gram’s pool that you would not find it filled with family and church family, and enough food to feed a small village and her sharing her famous snickerdoodles.

There will never be enough words or paper to share all of Mom’s accomplishments and the many lives she has touched. Mom was very proud to be Lyles wife, our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Friend, and a Child of God.

Mom is survived by her four sons, Steve (Carolyn), Greg, Jeff (Carol), Mark (Jodi), 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Lyle, her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, WA. Funeral Service will be Monday, January 21, 2019 at 11:00 am at Neighborhood Assembly of God Church in Sunnyside, WA with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Neighborhood Assembly of God Sunnyside Washington.
