Dina "Carol" Smith

Dina ‘Carol’ Smith went to be with our Lord and savior on Thursday, September 19, 2019. She died in her home surrounded by family.  Carol was born on November 9, 1934, in Colbert, Kansas to Ronald and Violet (Rogers) Lund. Carol grew up in the Yakima Valley and met James ‘Jim’ Smith in Sunnyside. Jim and Carol married in 1953, and had six children: Jaqueline ‘Jacque’ (Dick) Whalen, Debra (Rick) Broers, Jamie (Gary) Weenink, Ronald (Mary) Smith, David (Lynn) Smith, and Richard ‘Kirk’ (Giana) Smith. Jim and Carol made their home in Outlook, Washington where she lived until her passing.  Carol loved watching sports; especially bull riding, baseball, and football. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and tending to her numerous flowers. Carol was also very supportive of Christian charities like Samaritans Purse and enjoyed listening to the Gaither Vocal Band.  Carol is preceded in death by her husband Jim, her father Ronald, her mother Violet, her stepmother Pat, & her sister Iris. Carol is survived by her sister Lois (Alan) Suski; children Jacque, Debra, Jamie, Ronald, David, & Kirk; 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and many friends.
Viewing  and visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA.  Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at the Neighborhood Assembly of God Church in Sunnyside, WA  98944.  Those wishing to sign Dina's online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com   Smith Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
