Edwin "Ed" Nick McLemore

Edwin Nick McLemore age 82 of Prosser, WA passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 in Sunnyside, WA. Ed was born at the family homestead in Washita County Oklahoma on a Friday evening March 29, 1935 to Willie Lee and Matilda (Brown) McLemore. His family moved to Washington State in 1943 and grew up in the Naches/Tieton area. Ed attended Highland High School where he excelled in basketball and gained notoriety in the Yakima Herald-Republic telling of his exploits. He met his future wife Barbara Kaye Patterson while in high school. Ed and Barbara started a family and moved to Seattle in the sixties. In the mid 1970’s Ed and Barbara moved to Prosser, bought a ranch and started Mac’s Plumbing. While not plumbing Ed farmed alfalfa, grew grapes and raised cattle. His favorite pastimes included gun collecting, RC airplanes, hunting, fishing and loved spending time in the wilderness. Ed and his sons also started a small contracting business on the side. 

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Barbara Kaye Patterson; three children Julie McLemore-Schlaman (Don), Tommy Roy McLemore (Cindy), Robert Dale McLemore and younger sister Patricia McLemore Veach (Gary). He is also survived by six grandchildren Jennifer Schlaman-Kandler, Jaimie McLemore, Kelly McLemore, Travis Schlaman, Bryan McLemore, Lillie McLemore; seven  great grandchildren Robert Brayden Alvarez, Kendyl Pettingell, Karly Pettingell, Dawson Kandler, Dalton Kandler, Berkley McLemore and Asha Schlaman. He is preceded in death by his parents.
