Chon, Chris, Michelle
I am so very sorry to hear of Elva's passing. 💔 George and I have just returned last fri from Az and just now getting to the newspapers. I surely would have been there at the service had I been home.
Elva was a very special lady and I loved her dearly. It killed me to tell her I was retiring.
Even though I know she was in pain I know she leaves a huge hole in your family. My heart goes out to you all.
She will be missed by so many.
Big Hugs and lots of Love
Deb

To the family and friends,
I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one.
When Jesus was on earth, he brought his friend Lazarus back to life, who was dead for four days! Before Jesus resurrected Lazarus he spoke to Martha, Lazarus' sister as recorded at John 11:21-27 :
" Martha then said to Jesus: 'Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. Yet even now I know that whatever you ask God for, God will give you.' Jesus said to her: 'Your brother will rise.' Martha said to him: 'I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.'  Jesus said to her: 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life;  and everyone who is living and exercises faith in me will never die at all. Do you believe this?'  She said to him: 'Yes, Lord, I have believed that you are the Christ, the Son of God, the one coming into the world.' "
Yes, Jesus has the power from God to bring our loved ones back to life!
In the mean time we need comfort from God as it says in 2Corinthians 1:3, 4: "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God."

Chon, Mike, Chris, & Michelle; where do I even begin? Your Mom & entire family is lovingly and forever etched in my Sunnyside memories. Family outings, vacations, and countless Friday and/or Saturday evenings spent hanging out at the Torres residence--they were truly the 'best of times'. I was always in awe of your Mom's beauty, grace, and quick-witted sense of humor--she had THE best, most contagious laugh; I can hear it in my mind still! Stopping in at Howard's to visit her, oftentimes to ask for her sage advice on life when I couldn't talk to my own Mom about things. She always had advice to give--but also a swift way of (very firmly) setting me straight when needed...and for that, I am forever grateful. Please know that Mom, Dad, and I grieve with you. Elva was larger than life, and we are so lucky to have been a part of hers, all those years ago. May she rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to the family of Elva .... she was an amazing, talented and beautiful woman whom everyone loved! She worked with my father Bob Culp for many years at Howard’s Empire Drug. She was an amazing dedicated esthetician and a true asset to the business. Fond memories include her lending me an authentic Outfit to perform the Hat dance with Nick Gonzales while in The third grad under the teaching and guidance of Sister Celia at St Joseph’s School. She also made several outfits that were part of cheer/dance routines while attending Sunnyside Sr High....she also made a homecoming dress for me .... I still have all these pieces and cherish and appreciate every stitch and hard work and time she dedicated to helping make my dreams .... thank you Elva💖 May you be at peace now and join your many loved ones and friends in our Lords home... Heaven... God bless your family during this difficult time🙏🏻

We were so sorry to hear of Elva's passing. Our heart and prayers go out to the family and all who loved Elva and there were so many that loved her. May God console your hearts and give you peace.

Elva was truly an amazing and incredible women who left her legacy behind. I was privileged to have worked with her at Howard's Drug Store and she taught me so many things. I looked up to her and admired how talented, classy and beautiful she was, her skills were endless. She would make delicious holiday treats and bring them to work with her to share with all of us. I was so impressed with how wonderful everything she made tasted. She shared some special holiday recipes with me and I make those delicious treats every holiday for the family, and remember the beautiful lady that shared them with me.

We will miss you Elva, thank you for sharing your love with all of us. An Angel went back home to heaven and hopefully we will all get to see her again someday. Love you Elva
