Ervin Carl Kilian of Sunnyside, WA passed away to be with his loving father on November 13, 2018 while surrounded by loved ones.
Ervin was 73 years old and the youngest of seven children. He graduated from Sunnyside High School with honors and was a recognized member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA). He played and coached church league basketball and softball.
Ervin was an avid farmer in Sunnyside for much of his life. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, raising gladiolas, going to ballgames, getting coffee at Bleyhls and spending time with his family. He was one of the original organizers of the Sunnyside Lighted Farm Implement Parade and chairman of the Miss Sunnyside Float Committee. Ervin served as an Elder and Sunday School Teacher at Calvary Lutheran Church, and an Advisory Committeeman and Delegate for Welch’s National Grape.
Ervin married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Anderson, on April 2, 1967. They had four children, Carl Kilian (Jeannie), Melissa Clymer (Jeff), Coleen Goulet (Paul) and Jennifer Tobin (Craig), sixteen grandchildren, and one great grandson.
Ervin is survived by his wife, Sharon of fifty one years, his brother Herman Jr. Kilian, four children, sixteen grandchildren and one great grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents Herman Sr. and Lena Kilian, two brothers and three sisters.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday November 20th, 2018 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 11th and Harrison in Sunnyside, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sunnyside Rotary/Farm Implement Parade to establish an Ervin Kilian Memorial Award.
