Feliciana Tijerina

Feliciana Tijerina, age 96, went to be in the arms of her Heavenly Father on Friday, June 21, 2019. She was born on June 9, 1923 in Nixon, Texas the daughter of Francisca (Martinez) and Leonardo Valdez. Her education was learned and received over ninety-six year of life experiences.  In the early 1940’s Feliciana married Arturo Tijerina Sr. in Texas.  Feliciana was a homemaker and for many years worked in the fields and food processing plants where she find tuned her expertise. She spent her spare time embroidering, crocheting and dressmaking.

Feliciana is survived by her children, Francisco Tijerina, Elida Rivas, Arturo Tijerina Jr., Federico Tijerina, and Lionel Tijerina. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one brother Luis Valdez. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arturo Tijerina, daughter Celica Tijerina, parents Leonardo and Francisca Valdez and seven siblings. 

Viewing and Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, WA.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, WA. with burial to follow at the Mabton Cemetery.  Those wishing to sign Feliciana’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com.  Smith Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
