Glen lewis Obituary

Glen L. Lewis of Grandview, Washington, age 94, passed away June 12, 2019 at his home. Glen was born in Truscott, Texas August 23, 1924.  He was the third child of Roy and Minnie Meyers.  His father passed away when Glen was only 6 weeks old.  His mother remarried Coy Lewis who was Dad to him.  

When Glen was 5 years old, the family moved to the Yakima Valley where they farmed.  After completing his education, Glen also farmed.  He would eventually meet his bride-to-be on a blind date.  Glen and Vera Mae Baugher would marry on January 8th, 1947.  They started their married life in Toppenish and would later move to the Grandview area.  Their marriage produced two great sons.

 In 1957, Glen would begin his long time employment with the Sunnyside Valley Irrigation District retiring as an engineer for SVID in 1986.  He and Vera also owned a small farm where they grew cherries and apples.  In 1992, they moved from their farm into town.

Glen and Vera enjoyed traveling in their motorhome all around the US.  Glen also enjoyed fishing and watching his Mariners.

Glen is survived by his wife of 72 years Vera, his two sons Dean(Melanie)Lewis of Grandview, WA, and Alan(Dotti)Lewis of Nordman ID.  He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
