Guadalupe Garza - Fernandez

Guadalupe Garza-Fernandez, age 67, of Yakima, WA and former Sunnyside resident passed away on November 11, 2016 at her home.  Guadalupe was born on February 14, 1949 in Hargill, Texas the daughter of Jovita (Santa Maria) and Guadalupe Garza.  In 1970 she married Israel Fernandez Sr. and they were later divorced in 1984.  Guadalupe was a homemaker, she also loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren, go to the Casino, fishing and dancing. 

She is survived by her partner of thirty five years Tomas Ontivero.  Children Julian Davila, Ruben Garza (Lisa), Adam Sanchez, Norma Fernandez, Israel Fernandez Jr.  and Very special friend Israel Fernandez Sr.  Guadalupe is also survived by her 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Four brothers Raul Garza Sr. (Donna), Manuel Garza (Delia), Daniel Garza and Rene Garza.   She is preceded in death by her parents Guadalupe and Jovita Garza and two sisters.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyside, WA.  Those wishing to sign Guadalupe’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomemsmith.com  Smith Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
