Gaudalupe “Wally” Montelongo Sr age 75, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020. His occupation was Auto Mechanic Technician. He was a member of Iglesia de Valle and El Buen Pastor, where he played the drums and also was a soloist singer.
He is preceded in death by his father Tomas Montelongo and mother Angelita Rodriguez Montelongo and three brothers who passed away when they were infants.
He married the love of his life, his honey Francisca, in San Benito, Texas on April 29, 1968. Guadalupe and Francisca migrated to Washington State from the state of Texas in 1974. Guadalupe was a master mechanic and worked in various mechanic shops. He also was a very talented drummer that played the drums in both secular and Christian music. Guadalupe and Francisca made their home in Granger Washington where they raised their eight children Guadalupe loved to spend time with his children, going outdoors and playing the guitar with sons. Guadalupe had the heart of an entrepreneur and inspired his children to have the same heart.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Francisca Aguirre Montelongo; and his brother Jesus Montelongo Sr. and his sister Maria De la Luz his son Guadalupe Jr. Montelongo and his wife Rosie and 4 kids; His daughter Nora Vargas and her husband Juan; 8 kids and 7 grandchildren; His daughter Julie Almanza and husband Paul; 2 kids and 2 grandchildren; His son Tomas Montelongo and Beatrice; 5 kids and 4 grandchildren; His daughter Melissa Almanza and Albert; 6 kids and 3 grandchildren; His son Roy Montelongo and Lludid (Judy); 5 kids 2 grandchildren; His daughter Mary Ann Campos and Antonio; 5 kids and 5 grandchildren; and his son Josue Montelongo and Dawn; 5 children.
Memorial service will be held from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 8 at the Smith Funeral Home, 528 S 8th S, Sunnyside, with Pastor Manuel Lopez. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, Jan 9, 2020 at El Buen Pastor Church, 1515 Sunnyside Mabton highway Sunnyside WA, with Pastor Arnulfo Estrada. Burial in Zillah Cemetery.
