Our Precious Mom, Grandma, Great and Great-Great Grandma, Sister, and Aunt was taken into her Heavenly Father’s loving arms on October 20, 2018. Helen was born to Ray L Mulrony and Helen D Chase on August 13, 1925 in Thornton, WA. She graduated from Ewan High School Class of 1944. On Saturday, June 15, 1946, by a Justice of the Peace, she married Herbert M (Jack) Lusby in Goldendale WA. Yes, back then the county courthouse was open until noon on Saturdays. They honeymooned in a two-room house, built by Dad in Cleveland, WA. Originally without electricity and indoor plumbing, Mom cooked their meals on a “Home Comfort” wood stove. The house was later added on to accommodate their six children, one son, five daughters and one bathroom. Mom was known by all of the “Cleveland Kids” for her whistle calling us home for supper. Dad passed away in 1995 at the age of 76, after nearly 49 years of marriage.
Helen was a member of the Bickleton Cowboy Church, Alder Rebekah Lodge, Eastern Klickitat County Historical Society, and the Alder Creek Pioneer Picnic Association where she served with honor as president in 2006.
The family wishes to thank grandson Jason Bush for the wonderful loving care he gave to mom in her home for the last nine years. As well as the entire staff of Prestige Care & Rehabilitation, Sunnyside WA, especially Bertha and Felica, for the care and comfort you provided mom and her family during her last few weeks.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother James C Mulrony and wife Bettie; infant brother Ronald Mulrony; Sister Shirley J Olsen and husband Wally; and sister-in-law Maryann Baney.
Helen is survived by her children son David Lusby, Bickleton WA; daughters Marie (Dean) Miller, Bickleton WA; Nancy (Gary) Lentz, Dixie WA; Connie Morris, Eugen OR; Heidi Lusby, Olathe, KS; and Harriet Mercer, Richland, WA; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great granddaughters.
