J. Juanita Graff

Juanita “Nita” Graff, age 90 went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 in Mabton, WA. Juanita was born December 30, 1928 to Glen and Ola (Thompson) Forney in Burton, Kansas. She spent her early years in Kansas and Missouri. Her family moved to Vancouver, WA and later to Sunnyside, WA where they settled on a farm north of town. After graduating from Sunnyside High School, she worked as a clerk for Haskins dime store. Juanita met and later married Reuben Graff in Goldendale, WA on April 28, 1949.  Juanita worked for many years and retired from Twin City Foods. Juanita enjoyed raising pygmy goats, chickens, turkeys and cattle. She also liked to spend many hours in her gardens tending to her flowers. Some of Juanita’s favorite past-times were to go to the hills by Bickleton for family picnics, “hunting” rocks, admiring the wildflowers and watching the deer and bluebirds.

Juanita is survived by two sons; Dennis (Karen) Graff, Douglas (Angela) Graff, one daughter Sharon (Steve) Hanson, ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters.  She is also survived by one brother Dean Carlyle and one sister Fern Erickson. She is preceded in death by her husband Reuben Graff, son Robin, granddaughter Mary Dawn, daughter-in-law Rosella, parents and several other family members.
