Jack A. Moran, 99, longtime valley resident passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Sunnyside, WA. Jack was born on November 12, 1919 in Kansas City, MO the son of Frances (Hermston) and Jack Moran. He served in the United States Army from 1940 to 1945. Jack worked as a prison guard at the Soledad Prison in Soledad, CA for several years before managing a Lumber Yard also in CA. He drove truck for various companies throughout the Yakima Valley for many years.
Jack is survived by two sons, Rodney Moran (Mary) of Grandview, WA and Bill Moran (Roxann) of Prosser, WA. He is also survived by a step-daughter, Wanda Schilperoort of Sunnyside, WA, one granddaughter, three great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren and two step-grandsons. He is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Pearl Moran and 2nd wife, Mildred Moran, one daughter Jackie Holder, three brothers and two sisters.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Graveside Military Honor will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA.
