Keith S. Ashley

Keith S. Ashley, age 88, lifetime Grandview, WA resident passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in Yakima, WA.  Keith was born on December 9, 1929 in Grandview, WA the son of Fidelia (Steele) and Charles Ashley.  He received his education in Grandview, WA having graduated with the Grandview High School Class of 1948.  Keith was a hard worker, farmer and beekeeper, which he enjoyed, throughout his lifetime. At the age of 86, Keith was forced to retire because of his failing health. On January 15, 1974 he married Mary Ann St. Hilaire at the United Methodist Church in Sunnyside, WA.  Keith was a member and pasted director of the Yakima County Farm Bureau and Washington State Beekeepers Association.  He enjoyed hunting, especially Elk, Deer and Pheasant. Keith and Mary Ann also loved to go camping and travel throughout the Northwest.  

Keith is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Ashley of Grandview, WA.  Four children Sherry Ashley of CA, Donald Ashley of Chicago, Ken Ashley (Debbie) of Tacoma, WA and Stephanie Townsend (Richard) of Grandview, WA.   He is also survived by six grandchildren Fiamma, Amelia, Katie, Adam, Andrew and Antheny. Five great grandchildren Jaden, Andrew, Adalynn, Asher and Nicholas. Three brothers Charles Ashley of Prosser, WA, Allen Ashley of Grandview, WA and Paul Ashley of AZ.  He is preceded in death by his parents Fidelia and Charles Ashley, daughter Jennifer Ashley, grandson Hunter Meyer, three sisters Edith Wierman, Mary Dorris and Lois Crawford. 

Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Grandview, Washington. Funeral Services will be Friday, January 19, 2018 at 10:00 am at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview, Washington with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery in Grandview, Washington.  Those wishing to honor Keith’s memory may contribute to the Grandview Fire Department.
