Leona Savage Obituary

Leona Savage was born in Monango, North Dakota, on March 11, 1926. At age 5 her parents moved to Bucyrus, N. D. where she received her education. She went through grades 1-12 at the same school. Her parents were Gottfried Roehl and Elsie Ida Herrmann, who were married in Forbes, North Dakota.

Leona moved to Sunnyside, WA, in 1944 and worked at Carnation Milk Company and McKays 5 & 10 cent store. On October 26, 1946, Leona married Delbert Savage in Sunnyside, WA and moved to Bickleton, WA where she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four children, Kaye (Tony) Looney, Mark Savage (Kim), Marsha Middleton (Gill), Kathy Juris (Ronald), nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters – Lillian Anderson of Quincy, WA, Lois Galpin of Richland, WA, and Shirley Briones of Mabton, WA.

Leona’s greatest interests were reading, music, and serving the Lord.

She was an Avon lady for 32 years and Secretary of Alder Rebekah Lodge #80

for more than 30 years. She was also active in the Bickleton Community Church.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bickleton Evangelical Community Church, Bickleton, WA, with a time for food and fellowship to follow at the Lodge Hall in Bickleton, WA.
