Linda Wolkenhauer Obituary

Linda Wolkenhauer was born March 8, 1949 in Prosser to parents George and Daisy (Allen) Wolkenhauer right behind her twin sister Glenda. Linda passed away March 6, 2019. Linda graduated from Grandview High School with the class of 1967. Linda along with her sister loved to bowl and play fast-pitch softball. Linda was pitcher and Glenda was catcher, and they won many tournaments with their team. She worked at several stores in the area, the 410 Market in Sunnyside in the 70s, Evan’s Thrift (Food Depot) in Prosser in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, then retiring from Safeway in Grandview in 2014. She loved to read and watch crime dramas on TV, and always watched and cheered on her Mariners and Seahawks. She loved her neighbors and enjoyed taking them their newspapers and mail. She was also fond of sharing fudgesicles with them.

     She is survived by her sisters Helen Henry of Bremerton and Betty Yager of Kennewick, brothers Roy Wolkenhauer and Paul Wolkenhauer of Las Vegas, and Tom Wolkenhauer of Grandview. Also nieces and nephews, all very dear to her: Bill Henry, Dennis Henry, David Wolkenhauer, Victoria Simmonnet, Angie Ley, Dan Ley, Ken Yager, Rick Yager, Steve Yager, Shawn Wolkenhauer, Nicole Wolkenhauer, Luke Wolkenhauer, Jake Wolkenhauer, Amy Wolkenhauer, and Caleb Wolkenhauer, and all their children.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents George and Daisy Wolkenhauer, sisters Mary Ley and Glenda Wolkenhauer, brother Earl Wolkenhauer, and nephew Michael Henry.

Funeral services will be held at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview on Thursday March 14 at 10:00 am followed by burial at Grandview Cemetery.  Those wishing to sign Linda’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com    Smith Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
