Lorene Lindstrom Obituary

Lorene Lindstrom, age 93 longtime Sunnyside resident died Thursday, July 19, 2018 at  Sunnyside, WA.  Lorene Lindstrom was born December 2, 1924 at Sunnyside the daughter of  James and Rena (Young) Swigart.  When Lorene was 2 ½ years old her mother died and from age of 8 she was sent to live with an Aunt and Uncle and did not have the opportunity to live with her father and twin brother.  She received her early education in Sunnyside and for a short time lived in Jamieson, Oregon with her Aunt and Uncle.  She returned to Granger where she graduated from the Granger High School with the Class of 1944.  On December 30, 1944, while she was a senior in high school,  Lorene married Alfred Lindstrom in Yakima, WA while Alfred was on leave from the United States Army Air Corps.   Following their marriage and his military service they farmed and operated a small dairy on the Satus, giving their children the opportunity to be raised in an idyllic country setting.  In 1986 Lorene and Alfred moved to Sunnyside.  Her husband Alfred Lindstrom died October 2, 1986 and following his death she continued to make her home in Sunnyside until the time of her death.  Her faith in God was very important to her and she made sure that her children attended Sunday school at the Granger Presbyterian Church.  When she moved to Sunnyside she became a faithful member of the Sunnyside Grace Brethren Church.  She enjoyed gardening, painting, quilt making, doll making and various needlework.  She is known for her compassionate care giving for various family and friends.   Lorene is survived by 3 daughters, Adele M.
