Marcella I. Mitzel

Marcella Ida Schneider Mitzel, born April 2, 1927, in Napoleon, North Dakota to Michael and Katherine Schneider, died November 6, 2018. She was 91 years old. Marcella spent her childhood raised in Saskatchewan, Canada and at the age of 19 moved to Bismarck, ND along with her younger sister Elizabeth.  While in Bismarck she met Peter Mitzel. They were married on October 5, 1948, and moved to Aberdeen, SD.  Their daughter Kathy was born in Aberdeen and in 1956 the family moved to Grandview, Washington. While living in Grandview, three more children joined the family: Connie, Steve, and Lorie.  In 1982, Marcella moved to Sunnyside, Washington and lived there for her remaining days. Spring was her favorite season due to all of the colorful flowers it brought. Time spent with family and friends was her greatest joy. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Katherine, husband Peter, daughter Kathy, brothers Andrew, Raymond, Pius, and Jerome, and sisters Elizabeth and Amelia.

Marcella is survived by her daughter Connie Mitzel-Faulk (Steve Faulk), son Steve Mitzel (Dana Mitzel), daughter Lorie Hoffman, son-in-law Charles Alexander, sister Theresa Haberman (Ed Haberman), and brother Lawrence Schneider (Kaye Schneider), along with seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
