Maria N. Leija

Maria Natividad Leija age 92 of Sunnyside, WA passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019 in Sunnyside. Maria was born January 29, 1927 in Mercedes, Texas the daughter of Alcadia (Maldonado) and Victoriano Gomez. She spent her early childhood in Texas and Mexico. In 1952 Maria married Juan Leija in Prosser, WA. Following their marriage they moved to Sunnyside. On June 15, 1979 Juan passed away and Maria continued to make her home in Sunnyside. Maria worked many years as a fruit warehouse laborer.

Maria is survived by four children Gilbert Leija of Hermiston, OR., Irene Siebol of Selah, WA., Elva Manriquez of Sunnyside, WA and Mary Ellen Dorisi of Tieton, WA. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Juan Leija, parents Victoriano and Alcadia Gomez, five brothers and two sisters.
