Maria Corina Mireles, age 80, of Prosser, WA, born in La Feria Texas passed away at home on May 1st, 2018.
Corina married the love of her life, Joe R Mireles in 1963 in Mercedes, Texas. The couple settled in Prosser, WA in the early 1960s, where they raised their three sons Jesse, the late Joe Jr., and James Mireles.
Corina was a dedicated wife, mother, housewife, part-time worker and in 2014 a proud grandmother.
Corina was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become “Grammy Corina” to her 2 grandchildren. Corina loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company, before becoming very ill with rheumatoid arthritis.
Corina was known for her Tex-Mex cooking, loving and caring heart. Always concerned for everyone’s well being, she took amazing care of her husband and sons. As her sons we remember her delivering homemade lunch and break-time snacks to our father’s place of work when he was too busy to come home. After becoming ill and disabled her husband and sons took care of her, like she took care of them. She will be terribly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Corina was the beloved wife of Joe R Mireles, devoted mother of Jesse Mireles , the late Joe A Mireles Jr., James Mireles & his wife Julie and their two daughters Paige and Naomi. She is preceded in death by her father, mother and two sons. She is survived by a very large family of brothers, sisters, cousins. As well as nieces and nephews that were like her children.
Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, May 7, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with recitation of Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Grandview, WA.
