Mary Embree Obituary

Mary Georgia Embree 88, of Sunnyside, passed away February 9, 2019.
Mary was born September 9, 1930 in Walla Walla, Washington to Charles and Jessie Frazier. She graduated from Walla Walla High School, before enrolling in College Place for continued education.
After graduation, Mary began working at Sea-First Bank in Toppenish beginning her long career in banking. She later transferred to the Sunnyside branch and married Earl Embree in 1956. They had two children, Kevin Embree and Karma Embree (Suchan).
Mary and Earl divorced years later and maintained a close relationship until Earl’s death in 2014. Mary had joined the Studebaker Club and she and Earl enjoyed various activities including participating in many local parades. She was also an avid dog lover and adopted many small dogs who needed a good home.
Mary’s primary focus however, was serving the Lord and she faithfully attended Cornerstone Church in Sunnyside. At about age 16, she was baptized in the Columbia River.
At Cornerstone Church, she put her banking skills to use by assisting with balancing church finances with her best friend Betty Patterson.
Mary was married for a short time and preceded in death by Loman Blankenship and wished for that time of her life to be mentioned also.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She shared a special bond with nephew Curtis Upton and niece Shelley Upton. At the time of her death, Mary was living with her sister Sharon Upton and niece Shelley Upton.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Jessie Frazier and son Kevin Embree.
She is survived by her daughter Karma Suchan, three grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
