Meryl Owen Obituary

Meryl Rose Owen (nee McCombs) was born in Salem, Missouri on August 11, 1948.  She joined her Lord and Savior at 7:05 pm on September 28, 2018.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Alberta (Cantrell) McCombs and her older brother Jerry McCombs.  She is survived by her husband, Dan, to whom she was married for nearly 45 years, children Tina (Bud) Burruss, Leslie (Chris) Johnson, Robert (Denise) Owen and Joshua Owen, her grandchildren, Holland (Jody) Younger, Kyrie (Joe) Johnson, Elizabeth (Hisashi) Matsushita, Daniel Lord, Alissa Owen, Hayden Owen, Patrick Owen and Lewis Owen and great grandchildren Elias, Rebecca and Hannah Johnson.  She is also survived by three sisters, three brothers and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Meryl’s life was one of loving and giving.  She never hesitated to share whatever she had.  She was constantly surrounded by children, both hers and numerous others.  Her life revolved around children and they all loved “Auntie Meryl”.  She and Dan took many trips to the oceanside, but her favorite view was of the Yakima River looking out her front window.  She worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant, but would always rather be surrounded by kids.  She loved to entertain and especially loved to cook and quilt.  No one ever left her house hungry.

A special thanks to her husband, Dan, for giving her family another five weeks to enjoy her sense of humor and her spirit, which was larger than life.
